Located in Hossegor, HEJMO is situated in a particularly challenging environment, characterised by prevailing winds, sea spray and a salty atmosphere. Against this backdrop, the façade was designed to combine strength, durability and architectural simplicity, in keeping with the site’s intended use.
HEJMO is a hybrid space, a cross between a hostel and an inn, conceived as a welcoming and relaxed place for socialising, deeply rooted in the local surfing culture.
To address these challenges, the project incorporates CLAD 4 cladding in the Heat colour, chosen for its technical performance: UV resistance, excellent performance in a salty atmosphere and wind resistance (V4 rating).
Completed in 2022, the building now provides concrete feedback: the façade has not shifted and retains both its aesthetic appeal and its original performance.
